I am thrilled to lead this new outreach and service initiative for AOTA and our members. The HCHSIS standing committee comprises a dedicated group of professionals with diverse backgrounds in home and community practice, each offering unique insights and experiences that enhance our collaborative efforts. This special interest section also supports four Communities of Practice: Environmental Modification, Integrative Health, Pelvic Floor, and Mealtime Occupations. Together, we are committed to supporting YOU!

Your feedback and ideas are invaluable to us. If there is anything we can do to better serve you and meet your needs, please contact me at kelly.sajdak@aah.org. We truly believe that together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of the patients we serve.

Live Online | Wednesday, February 25, 7:00-8:00 pm ET

This presentation will review low vision/blindness and common vision conditions and describe the role of low vision rehabilitation in outpatient OT. We will explore ways in which community-based OT’s can implement low vision rehabilitation concepts to improve safety and independence for clients with low vision. Kathryn Marxen-Simonson, MSOT, OTR/L, CLVT, is an occupational therapist who specializes in low vision. She works for the Casey Eye Institute associated with the Oregon Health Sciences University Evelyn L. Jones Low-Vision Rehabilitation Center.
